Intelligence Briefs
The Intelligence Brief section of Fulcrum Global was inaugurated on July 2, 2018. It originally started as a 3-month intelligence brief challenge where staff and members of the Society for Defense and Strategic Studies (SDSS) would prepare weekly intelligence briefs on a wide variety of issues that are currently of interest to U.S. policymakers. These weekly briefings were an effort to simulate the intelligence cycle by collecting open-source material, creating analysis, conducting peer review, and the creation of the final product that is put together in a brief format. The initiative became a success and has become one of the best selling features of the Fulcrum Global publication at SDSS.
The other reason this project was initiated was to help increase the profile of American Military University in the American Public University System (AMU/APUS) as well as the Society for Defense and Strategic Studies (SDSS) at AMU/APUS. In addition, this initiative is also designed to enable students and alumni the opportunity to work together and create an intelligence product based on their skills and knowledge learned from their degrees and professions.
